Obama Wins! Does the Environment Lose?

Obama wins!   Lot’s of talk this morning- big change.  There certainly is a lot to discuss regarding President-elect Barrack Obama’s environmental policies but first… does Barrack Obama put his money where his mouth is?  First things first… Obama’s first step as a true green, environmental leader should be to put into action a plan for all of the presidential campaign literature the Obama camp printed up.

McCain’s not the only loser here

A record $400MM+ was spent on the 2008 Presidential Campaign.  Figures aren’t in yet but print ads, stickers, signs, etc… for the Obama campaign likely amount to at least 1/4 of that figure!  So, what’s the president elect’s plan for all of that garbage?  Who will pick it up, where will it go- landfill?  And what of the Obama (and, in fairness- McCain) ’08 stickers.

Natural Source Printing, Inc. contacted the Obama campaign to discuss printing political signs and banners on it’s tree-free, zero water consumption FiberStone™ stone paper.  At Label Impressions, Inc. we attempted to contact the Obama headquarters many times to discuss printing these short term stickers with soy inks on tree-free papers and/or stone papers such as FiberStone™ rock paper but no luck.  Now what? We would LOVE to hear your input.  And if anyone has figures (printing estimates, etc…) we DO want to see those! Weigh in folks.  Let’s make this a blog for suggestions! What’s your idea?! WHAT SHOULD OBAMA DO WITH ALL OF THOSE CAMPAIGN SIGNS AND STICKERS?!

Obama/Biden Vs. McCain/Palin- which candidate is ‘greener’?

If you’re like me you’re very confused right now.  You’re losing sleep over the economy and wondering which candidate really cares about the environment.  Well, I’ll tell you that from what I’ve seen neither really ‘cares’ about the environment, but which one will fight for legislation that helps the economy AND the environment???

Oh, but before I go let me say this… forget promises, forget voting track record, if Obama, Biden, McCain OR Palin REALLY cared about the environment at ALL would they be printing up (or authorizing the printing of) and plastering virgin paper posters, signs, vinyl (petroleum laden) stickes and throw away plastic buttons in the millions?!  Think about it!
